About the Role
The High Meadows Environmental Institute (HMEI), has an occasional curricular need for lecturers to teach in areas such as scientific and technological dimensions of the nexus of global environmental problems, and accepts applications in advance in the event the occasion arises where such lecturers are needed. Any appointments and duty time are subject to enrollments and may be for one or two semesters during the 2025-2026 academic year. Positions would have an expected start date of September 1, 2025, or January 16, 2026.
Depending on the qualifications and interests of the applicants and the needs of the department, job responsibilities may include such activities as teaching and developing lecture classes; holding regular office hours; teaching and developing lab-based classes; teaching secondary precepts or lab sections; supervising graduate-student teaching assistants; grading problem sets and lab assignments; classroom and lab demonstrations; and supervising undergraduate research projects.
Candidates for these positions must carry a minimum of a Master’s degree in Environment Studies, or a related discipline. Ph.D. degree in a related field is preferred. Experience teaching at the undergraduate level is strongly preferred.
