About Tampa

Welcome to Tampa!

Located on Florida's Gulf Coast, Tampa offers abundant culture, exciting attractions, beautiful waterways, and sunny beaches. Founded in the mid-1800s, this vibrant port-side city is the 3rd largest city in Florida with a population of over 392,000. Once the cigar capital of the world, Tampa is infused with Spanish and Cuban culture and is the birthplace of the Cuban sandwich. Tampa is home to the Florida Aquarium, Busch Gardens, museums, great restaurants, and dozens of craft breweries.

For those that love the outdoors, Tampa is home to beautiful rivers, abundant parks, and nature preserves. Kayaking, hiking, and biking are all great ways to see Tampa's nature offerings. For the beach-goers, beautiful Tampa Bay beaches are located only 30 minutes from Tampa.

Tampa's Riverwalk is also a perfect way to view the city. 2.6 miles long, the Riverwalk connects some of the city's favorite attractions like Armature Works, Florida Aquarium, Sparkman Wharf, the Tampa Bay History Museum, Straz Performing Arts Center, and tons of fun eateries.
