PhD Position in Ecosystem Services of Managed Wetlands

We are seeking a Ph.D. student to quantify the ecosystem services provided by managed wetlands in Michigan. Specifically, the student will monitor hydrology, water quality, and greenhouse gas fluxes in wetlands under different management regimes. This position will involve extensive field work, laboratory soil and water quality analysis, data analysis, and numerical modeling. The student will be jointly supervised by Drs. Roderick Lammers, Don Uzarski, and Amanda Suchy. The target start date is August 2023. This research assistantship includes 4 years of stipend and tuition. The student would be enrolled in the interdisciplinary Earth and Ecosystem Science Ph.D. program at Central Michigan University (https://www.cmich.edu/program/earth-ecosystem-science-phd). The ideal candidate will have a BS (MS preferred but not required) degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, biology, or a related field. Research experience on water quality and soils analysis and/or modeling is preferred.
