About the Role
The American Ecological Engineering Society is in need of a marketing professional to oversee communications and the Society's electronic presence. The Communications Manager works closely with the Executive Committee of the Society to publish materials and information to various electronic platforms, including managing the website, social media accounts, newsletter, and other electronic communication and activities for the Society.
Requisite experience includes:
Designing WYSIWYG websites on platforms such as Wix, WordPress, or SquareSpace
Firm understanding of hierarchical website structure, information architecture, and color theory
Experience with Illustrator and Publisher for creating newsletters
Use of Canva or similar applications for design of social media posts and similar promotional media
Experience with video processing software in support of regular webinars and other online video postings
Understanding of or experience with AEES as a Society is desirable
Time required includes attending monthly executive committee meetings and planning meetings on demand and as needed seasonally to assist in conference preparations and advertisements. A dedicated time of between 5-15 hours per month to update website postings and videos, format and design quarterly newsletters, and create social media graphics. Pay is hourly billable at a competitive rate.
